Biking Across America to Aid At-Risk Youth: Penny To Mile Challenge

This summer, something remarkable is happening!

On June 22nd, a family of five — Craig, Melinda, and their three kids (ages 7, 9, and 10) — started a journey to bike 3,640 miles across America on the TransAmerican Trail! As they embark on their adventure, they are asking their supporters to give a Penny Per Mile, with all proceeds going towards Braking Cycles and our mission to equip and empower at-risk youth in the Pacific Northwest.

THE WHY

Pennies are much like the youth we serve - they are tossed aside, stepped over, forgotten, and not valued.

That is why we laid a beautiful penny floor at the Braking Cycles Coffee & Bike Shop. With thousands of at-risk youth in Oregon and Washington, we want to expose the lies that say they do not hold value by giving them an opportunity to shine through our housing, mentorship, and vocational programs.

THE ASK: GIVE A PENNY PER MILE!

Every mile the Smith Family pedals across the U.S. is a chance for you to invest in a young person who desperately needs someone to believe in them.

With the option to sponsor a rider or give a flat donation, all proceeds go directly toward empowering young adults to reclaim their stories and step into hope-filled futures.
