Celebrating 35 Years of Faithfulness at the Sonrise Annual Banquet

What an evening! Those of you who gathered with us on June 1st for our Sonrise Annual Banquet, I witnessed something I will carry in my heart for a lifetime — a room full of people who deeply believe that every young person's story is worth fighting for.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING BEHIND THE SCENES

Eloy, (on the right) a current resident at our Ritz Family Ranch housing program, brought the spirit of Braking Cycles to life at the banquet through his contribution to our newest promotional video (featured above)!

We are so grateful for his trust in us as he told his story, and even more grateful to see the gifts God has placed in him on display.

LIVE FASHION SHOW SHOWCASING YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The room came alive as Precious, a current resident at Harmony House, debuted her newest collection from her brand, Celestial.

Watching our community cheer her on as she presented her work was one of those moments that reminds you exactly why our mission exists.

GENEROSITY ON DISPLAY

The generosity we witnessed during the auction portion of the evening was nothing short of humbling. Time and again, our guests leaned in with open hands (and had a lot of fun doing it!).

Every gift will reach directly into the lives of young people like Eloy and Precious, who additionally received scholarships during the banquet to continue their endeavors.

"Empowering youth to reclaim their stories, discover their God-given worth, and step confidently into hope-filled futures."

Perhaps the most meaningful moment of the entire evening — 35 years in the making — was the announcement that our organization is stepping into a new chapter as Braking Cycles. It is the work we have always done, made visible: breaking cycles of poverty, instability, and hopelessness, one youth at a time. And it is what we carry forward into our future with renewed clarity and purpose.

For those of you who were in the room that night — THANK YOU. Thank you for showing up, for pouring into our mission, and for reminding our young people that they are seen and worth investing in.

With Gratitude,

RHONA MAHL

Executive Director of Braking Cycles

Your Gift Changes Their Story.

If you were not able to join us, or if the evening stirred something in you that you would still like to act on — the opportunity to give remains open.

Every gift goes directly toward housing, mentorship, and the kind of programming that is changing the trajectories of young lives across Oregon and Washington.
